Identity
Match buyer-provided details against the verified bank account owner.
We built a Plaid-powered signal engine that verifies buyer identity, account ownership, and available balance before a business approves a payment — turning blind approvals into evidence-backed decisions.
MyPaytriot is a B2B platform that runs 4 Plaid-powered checks on a buyer bank account — identity, authorization, account verification, and balance sufficiency — and returns a Strong, Weak, or Manual Review recommendation before a business approves a payment.

The Signal Checks
Match buyer-provided details against the verified bank account owner.
Confirm buyer consent is active and the bank connection has not been revoked.
Confirm a linked account exists and the name match clears ownership.
Compare available balance against the required payment amount.
The Challenge
Businesses approved buyers on trust. Nobody could confirm the person on the other side actually owned the account they claimed, or that the money was even there. The cost arrived later as returned payments, NSF fees, and manual chasing that grew with every new buyer.
What We Built
A business creates a buyer, sets the required amount, and shares a secure link. The buyer connects their bank through Plaid Link, and the platform runs identity, authorization, account verification, and balance sufficiency checks before applying the policy rules that business configured. It stays a recommendation — the final decision belongs to the business.
Inside the Build
The public site introduces the 4 signal checks and shows a live snapshot of a completed buyer run.
Businesses pick or create a buyer, set the required amount, then share a secure link or send an email invite.
Buyers open the shared link and connect their bank through Plaid Link without creating an account.
Each business configures its own rules, mapping signal outcomes to Strong, Weak, or Manual Review.
What We Delivered
A working product, not a pile of integrations. Staff send a link, review a recommendation, and decide — through our Plaid implementation services.
MyPaytriot handles buyer identity data and brokers bank access on behalf of businesses, so token isolation, verified webhooks, and least-privilege access were part of the build from the first commit.
Buyers never create an account. They arrive through a signed, expiring link, connect through Plaid, and leave. That keeps the credential surface small and gives businesses one less password store to defend.
Every run is persisted with the evidence behind each check, so a business can revisit exactly what was known at the moment it made a decision.
Built with Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS 4 for a fast, fully typed, and maintainable platform.
Backed by PostgreSQL with Knex migrations and Objection models, so every schema change stays versioned and reviewable.
Credential sessions with bcrypt hashing and middleware-protected routes limit dashboard data to invited team members.
Buyers arrive through short-lived signed tokens, connecting a bank without ever creating an account or password.
Every Plaid webhook is validated against an ES256 signature and a SHA-256 body comparison before the platform acts on it.
Revoked or errored connections are flagged, propagated to affected runs, and the buyer is emailed a fix link automatically.

Questions & Answers
MyPaytriot helps businesses avoid NSF payments and buyer fraud by verifying a buyer's identity, bank account ownership, and available balance before a payment is approved. Instead of approving on trust and absorbing returned payments later, the business gets evidence up front.
Every run executes four checks. Identity matches buyer-provided details against bank account owner data. Authorization confirms consent and an active connection. Account verification confirms a linked account and an ownership name match. Balance sufficiency compares the available balance against the required amount. Each check returns red, yellow, or green, and the run takes the worst result.
The platform uses Plaid Link for bank connection, Plaid Identity and Identity Match for account owner verification, Plaid Transactions for 180 days of history and balance data, and Plaid webhooks for connection lifecycle events such as revoked permissions or login repairs.
No. The business shares a secure link containing a short-lived signed token. The buyer opens it, connects their bank through Plaid Link, and the run evaluates automatically. There is no buyer signup, password, or portal access to manage.
